Our President awarded the 2015 Wyndham Volunteer of the year for ‘Culture, Arts & Tourism’
Every year Wyndham recognizes its many volunteers who work tirelessly for their community . This year our President Alan Thompson was nominated and awarded for his 25 years involvement in the performing arts with the “Culture, Arts and Tourism “award.

Also competing for the Citizen of the Year Award were ‘Community Health & Wellbeing’ award winner Bev Morrissey, ‘Culture, Arts & Tourism’ award winner Alan Thompson, ‘Environment & Sustainability’ award winner Craig Castree, ‘Sport & Recreation’ award winner Rebecca Nix and our Young Volunteer of the Year award winner Khurram Jahangir Khan. The Migrant HUB took out the honours for a new award introduced this year, the Community Group Award.
The Volunteer of the Year award went to a very worthy Walter Villagonzalo With over 20 years of community service, Walter Villagonzalo is often referred to as the ‘go-to person’ for local community information. Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Peter Maynard said that Walter was a very worthy recipient of this award. “Every year we are fortunate to have so many deserving and high performing volunteers and this year is no exception,” Cr Maynard said.
